Top 25 Albums
Thursday, February 19, 2009
A friend of mine sent me a note on facebook listing the top 20 albums (the note is listed below).
"Think of 20 albums that had such a profound affect, on you, they changed your life or the way you looked at it. They sucked you in, took you over for days, weeks, months, even years. These are the albums that you can use to identify time, places, people, or emotions. These are the albums that no matter what they were thought of musically shaped your world".
I had to add 5 more because I felt there were some albums I just couldn't, in good conscious, leave off. These are the albums that first came to my mind and are in no specific order, that would be too difficult. This list represents albums that completely absorbed or inspired me for different reasons and at many different points in my life. Just the mention of these albums evokes some of my strongest, sweetest, or most bitter memories. My life has taken on a musical journey of different genres as I grow and mature. I believe everyone goes through this in one way or another. You could probably never imagine listening to some of the music you do now when you were younger. So this list is a small glimpse into the music that has helped to shape my world.
1) Radiohead “Ok Computer”
2) Remy Zero “Villa Elaine”
3) Damien Rice “O”
4) Semisonic “Feeling Starngely Fine”
5) Sublime “Sublime”
6) Jeff Buckley “Grace” and “Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk”
7) Lucky Town “Anyway I'm Fine”
8) Brian McKnight “I Remember You”
9) Switchfoot “Beautiful Letdown”
10) Counting Crows “August and Everything After”
11) Fisher “True North”
12) Stroke 9 “Nasty Little Thoughts”
13) Kenny Chesney “Everywhere We Go”
14) Matchbox 20 “Yourself or Someone Like You”
15) Travis “The Man Who”
16) Better Than Ezra “Deluxe”
17) The Tony Rich Project “Words”
18) Chalk Farm “Notwithstanding”
19) The Refreshments “Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy”
20) Surfacing - Sarah McLachlan
21) Poe “Hello”
22) Sneaker Pimps “Becoming X”
23) Dog's Eye View “Happy Nowhere”
24) Gin Blossoms “New Miserable Experience”
25) Mariah Carey “Mariah Carey”
Please feel free to compile your own list, it may show you a little something about yourself.
Obama a Nutsack or just a Douchebag?
Wednesday, June 25, 2008
Again i find myself writing about Barack Obama. This time he has done something that I find offensive as an American. He has changed part of the presidential seal, the phrase E Pluribus Unum
which means out of many, one. This was a tribute to our mixing of cultures, our melting pot we call America. Instead he changed the phase to "Vero Possumus", which translates to truly we are able. If that isn't enough of a stab to our nations heritage he also changed the shield over the eagles breast, which represents the presidents oath to the Constitution, to an O for Obama. Is it just me or does this guy think he has the presidency wrapped up already. He thinks he can do anything on the campaign trail including playing "White House", his own game of make believe, on the campaign trail. Don't get me wrong John McCain sucks, but I would rather have almost anyone in office than this radical liberal nutsack-douchebag, called Obama, in office.

The music Revo-Evo-lution
Friday, May 30, 2008
I have been around long enough to see the music evolution from 8-tracks-to-Cassettes-to-CD's-to-Mp3s. Having recently transferred all of my CD collection onto my hard drive I am growing somewhat nostalgic of the old days. I am actually considering the possibility of putting these CD's into a box to store in my basement. Because of the low cost of CD-R's I can put whatever music I want to listen to that day on a CD or put it on a Ipod. Gone are the days of having a shelf to display your vast musical collection, instead you can claim how many gigabytes of music you own. I actually found myself saying that I had 2.5 GB of Jeff Buckley, I thought afterward what the hell did I just say. I sometimes miss the days of my childhood, listening to the radio for hours just to hear your favorite new song so you could hit the record button, mix tapes were awesome.Gone also are the days of borrowing CD's and the great conversations or fights that would ensue. I am sure more than one of you have fought over CD's after a breakup. It just doesn't seem the same when I download/buy an album or send a file to a friend, I actually liked the whole CD buying process. There was also a sense of commitment when you shelled out money for a whole CD, I would listen to the whole thing, giving it much more of a chance of winning me over than listening to a 30 sec preview. I still refuse to buy just a single song seeing it as a betrayal of their album as a whole work of art. Maybe in the future CD stores take the place of "record" shops, for buying vintage music? Don't get me wrong I do like having my music more accessible and usable, and I believe I am showing my age here, but I just miss the old days.
Feel free to share some of your musical memories.

Please watch it all the way through, the subtitles get funnier and funnier throughout the video. Enjoy my little Blogerites..
Obama is made of sunshine and sprinkles
Friday, May 16, 2008
Obama has somehow become known as the man who is capable of giving us everything we ever wanted. Well last time I checked he hasn't really done much of anything in his political career. So in the spirit of telling the American people everything they want to hear, check out this website that makes fun of this by making up some outrageous claims (refresh the page to see them all). Feel free to add to the list, I put a few of my thoughts below
When Obama wins, Horses will poo M&M's
Barack Obama told me he will build me that sandbox my dad promised me when I was 4
When Obama wins, it will rain Jameson Irish whiskey on Fridays....mmmm
Barack Obama will make nuclear weapons taste like marshmallow peeps
When Obama wins, my other car will be a dragon
Barack Obama told me the Cubs will win the World Series this year, leave it up to him to end the 100 year drought.
Don't fear his presidency as a coming socialist regime, but see him as a man who can truly make our dreams come true.
Fred and Sharon, Canada is proud.
Monday, April 7, 2008
Oh Canada, not just a song but a national song of a proud people. Canada has given us many great things, .....Hockey......hmmm.....apple pie....no wait that was America...ok well they gave us Fred and Sharon, OH Canada indeed.
Regretfully I know most of my posts lately have been videos. I hate to be "that guy" who just posts videos on their blog, but when a gem like this falls into your lap it just needs to be shared.I still haven't figured out if this is supposed to be funny, serious, or if they truly are retarded. Take a look at their Youtube page and decide for yourself, and blame Canada
Politicians or Fecal Matter?
Wednesday, March 26, 2008
Every day I am more disgusted at this years presidential race and politics in general. Almost daily there is some new story of questionable behavior. Is it too much to ask for a politician who can hold office without doing any of the following; sleeping with prostitutes, lying about sniper fire, attending a hate filled racist church, having an affair, lying under oath, using cocaine, smoking weed, or leaving a woman to die in your car in a river (see photo).
I'm just saying, is every politician a piece of Sh*t. To hide their abhorrent backgrounds they wrap themselves in the flag. I don't know how they can hold office and help pass laws to imprison people for doing what, in some cases, they have already done. I long for a day when we can be led by upstanding, moral, strong, honorable men and women. So in absence of a good candidate I plan on taking my dog for a walk and when she drops a nice big steaming pile, I think I will vote for that
Seth Rogan
Thursday, February 28, 2008
I just finished posting on the new Jimmy Kimmel video, and 5 minutes later I find the Seth Rogan version. Apparently the series of "I'm F**ing whoever" videos is never going to end.
This video is amusing, but I hope this will be the final video of this type.

I'm F**king Ben Affleck
If you haven't seen the Sarah Silverman video with Matt Damon yet you must be living under a rock. Well Jimmy Kimmel decided to do a response to the I'm F**cking Matt Damon video.
I have to admit, it is pretty funny. I especially loved the Josh Groban appearance, but the best part of all is the Robin Williams water bottle scene. You will understand when you watch it. If you haven't seen the Sarah Silverman version, make sure to click that link first. Enjoy

Myspace, a Narcissistic Paradise
Thursday, January 31, 2008
"Myspace people." You know the ones where their life is posting pictures of themselves for self glorification, sending out bulletins saying look at me, new pictures posted, try this survey it said I'm a slut haha. I have tried to not let myself become one of those people and I think I haven't. However, just having a Myspace page makes me feel like a narcissist just by association.
I often wonder what kind of effect this narcissism will have on the current high school generation. What happens when they get into the real world and their boss doesn't treat them like they have "561 friends" and they have a cool Myspace pose (exhibited by this douche bag).
It is sad what the internet is mainly used for by young people, Myspace, Facebook etc., it's a narcissistic paradise. Now there are some good uses for Myspace but is has become overwhelmingly a site of preoccupation with oneself.
I guess you could say that I am somewhat guilty, I do have a blog, but I like to think that at least attempt to do this with humor and without the intent of self glorification. I am fully aware that I am just another person with opinions and ideas not necessarily better than anyone else.
So there you have it I think I am going to delete my Myspace account and enter what I think will be a better world. A world without Tom, bulletins, surveys, and hacked accounts with spam posts to your friends about penis enlargement. If I don't post a blog in a week Tom and his Myspace army have killed me.
Kellie Pickler
Tuesday, January 29, 2008
I found myself watching "Are you smarter than a 5th grader," for the first time, the other night. This was due to the absolute lack of anything else on tv. What I saw was Kellie Pickler, I thought hey she pretty hot I will watch this. Holy Hell I didn't know I was going to be watching the stupidest person alive. Watch this and then you will understand. Needless to say I didn't make it through the whole show.
I wonder how she remembers her lyrics.

Coca Cola?
Sunday, January 13, 2008
I was at the movies the other night and saw a Coke commercial. So while watching this well produced, obviously pricey, commercial I exclaimed, "why does Coke need to advertise, either you like it or you don't." I mean seriously, everyone has tried Coke and it is the second most recognized word in the world. They could probably go without advertising for years and no one would notice.
So as long as they want to continue spending millions, I will be waiting for Coca Cola to contact me for their next commercial, the one with me standing in front of a camera saying "Coke, you know what it is, drink it if you want to."
